About Our Converted Heather Barn in Cumbria

Our newly converted Heather Barn is a culmination of modern luxury and traditional charm, acting as the perfect base to explore the scenic landscapes of Cumbria.

With the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks on your doorstep, you can immerse yourself in the beauty of nature while still enjoying all the comforts of home.

Our converted barn space has been lovingly designed with contemporary features, including a private bathroom, kitchenette, and open-plan living area.

There’s also a completely secure outdoor area to the side of the property for soaking up the sounds and sights of Newlands Farm, or letting your furry friends stretch their legs.

Your family or group of friends will sleep in comfortably furnished double or twin bedrooms with a harmonious and peaceful purple colour scheme, which follows throughout the interior of the self-catering and dog-friendly barn. 

You can also enjoy a large furnished terrace area with calming views over the fields.

Heather Barn is our 4-person dog-friendly barn, right next door to our beautiful Bracken Barn. It’s equipped with everything you and your friends or family will need for a restful recharge in the countryside.

You’ll either sleep tranquilly in the spacious double bedroom - featuring a wardrobe, bedside tables, and a dressing table for optimum storage - or in the cosy twin bedroom, also with a wardrobe and bedside tables. Bed linen is provided for all.

Inside the idyllic barn stay, you’ll also find white fluffy towels upon arrival to be used in the private bathroom. This features a roomy shower, a deep sink and bathroom cabinet, and a toilet.

You will also benefit from the modern open-plan living room and kitchenette, which has a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, and plenty of cupboard space for snacks.

We’ve even stocked it with cutlery, crockery, utensils, cleaning products, and coffee-making facilities to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

If you fancy making the most of the Cumbrian sunshine, Heather Barn has a gas BBQ and dining area out on the terrace in front of the property. There’s also a communal pizza oven - just bring your dough and toppings!

To the side of the unit, you’ll also find an enclosed outdoor area, perfect for safely storing bikes, pushchairs, and wheelchairs, or for securely letting wandering dogs out.

Heather Barn, or any of our accommodations here at Newlands Farm, does not have a television. However, we have free, high-speed WiFi that you can use on your personal devices for streaming or entertainment purposes.

Heather Barn has space for one car outside the property. Parking here is free.

Yes. Heather Barn is located entirely on the ground floor, making it accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Please note there is a step up into this property.

It also features an enclosed outdoor area, exclusive to Heather Barn users, for safe storage of medical or mobility devices.

In the open-plan living room, you’ll find a comfortable corner sofa, positioned towards the glass doors so you can enjoy the view, and a driftwood coffee table.

The kitchen has a large dining table and chairs for when the weather won’t allow outside dining.
