Our Connected Stables are a fusion of our Traditional Stables 1 & 2 and Superior Stable 3, providing the perfect hub for group holidays or glamping for families in Cumbria - like glamping pods for families, but with added luxury.

You can enjoy three separate and private accommodation units, and a large communal outdoor area, so you can unwind in your individual space or gather together for meals and activities.

You'll either enjoy a peaceful sleep on one of our snug sofa beds, or drift off pleasantly in our comfortable triple bunk beds (double at the bottom, single at the top) or the glorious double four-poster bed.

The studio style of our stables means you'll have everything you need in one cosy, compact room. This includes a private bathroom with a roomy shower, corner sink, toilet, and kitchenette with a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, and plenty of cupboard space.

When you arrive, you'll notice that we've placed fresh linen on all beds and provided each person with a white fluffy towel.

You’ll also see that we've fully stocked the kitchen, supplying you with cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery, cleaning products, and tea and coffee-making facilities.

During your stay at our Connected Stables, you’ll enjoy the soothing nature of the surrounding countryside by cooking al fresco on the three gas BBQs situated just outside the stable doors on the individual terraces.

The terraces provide a beautiful viewing platform to watch the swaying trees, swirling clouds, and twinkling stars.

If you fancy using the property's outdoor space, there are extra tables, seating, and fire pits right next to Stable 3. There’s also a communal pizza oven - just bring your dough and toppings!

North West National Parks

The Lake District, known for its winding glacial lakes, rugged mountains, lush green forests, and historic literacy links, is a top destination for those with a passion for nature and walking trails.

If you're stopping for the day, you’ll also find fantastic historic pubs, simple and Michelin-starred, using locally sourced, natural ingredients. Have you tried any local delicacies - Cumberland sausage, rum butter, or Kendal mint cake?

The Yorkshire Dales are also easily accessible from our location. Here, you’ll find the famous and highly distinctive dry stone walls - centuries-old man-made structures.

Of course, you can also visit the dramatic Yorkshire Three Peaks, bask in the serenity of rolling hills, and hike until your heart's content.

Cumbria & Yorkshire Local Heritage Sites

Don’t forget to enjoy some local history and visit the medieval ruins of Kendal Castle. You’ll be able to take in the same breathtaking views as those from the Middle Ages.

Things for Children to Do in North West England

If you’ve got the kids with you, why not stop at The World of Beatrix Potter? The exhibition features much-loved characters, like Peter Rabbit, recreated in iconic Lake District settings.

Keep going with the wildlife theme and head to The Lakeland Wildlife Oasis, where you’ll find over 100 species of animals! And when your children are ready to let off some steam, check out Lakeland Maze Farm Park, just 15 minutes away. Full of activities, come rain or shine!

Exploring top local attractions is hungry work, so make a final stop at Lakeland Farm Visitor Centre. With a tasty farm shop and kitchen, you’ll be spoilt for choice. Your little ones can even watch live animal demonstrations and take part in activities while you’re there!

FAQs

Yes, they do. A modern infrared heating system heats the Connecting Stables, which heats the core fabric of the building, not the air. This system actually has many health benefits.

The Connecting Stables, or any of our accommodations here at Newlands Farm, does not have a television. However, we have free, high-speed WiFi that you can use on your personal devices if you want to catch up on your favourite programmes during your stay.

Yes, of course! We have free onsite parking for all our guests.

You and your guests will benefit from a selection of outdoor furniture, including chairs, a small coffee table, and a lounger.

There is ample storage underneath the triple bunk beds and double four-poster beds to store any belongings.

We do recommend travelling lightly. Due to the compact studio space, anything that doesn’t fit under the bed will take up floor space.
