Visiting the Yorkshire Dales

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is a stunning slice of northern England, known for its dramatic landscapes, rolling hills, and charming stone-built villages. Whether you’re an avid hiker, a keen cyclist, or just looking for a peaceful day out with the family, the Dales offer something for everyone.

The park is a mix of green valleys (dales), rugged moorland, limestone cliffs, waterfalls, and traditional farmland.

It’s the perfect spot to reconnect with nature, with miles of walking and cycling routes, wildlife to spot, and lots of cosy pubs to stop in for a rest and a roast.

Popular attractions like Malham Cove (Harry Potter super fans may know this one), Ribblehead Viaduct, and Bolton Abbey are just a handful of the popular attractions you could see on your trip.

The park is easily accessible by car, with various entry points from the north, south, east and west. Public transport is available, but it can be limited to more remote areas, so driving is often the most convenient way to explore.

If you're bringing your four-legged friend on your trip to Newlands, check out our blog post, where you'll find specific walking trails for dogs and information on taking your dog around the Dales!
